Rod Wesson was born in Barnard Castle and studied Fine Art and Photography at Sunderland College of Art and Design, and the University of. Newcastle upon Tyne. He then spent the majority of his career teaching and lecturing in a variety of schools and colleges across the country. Rod’s work has evolved over thee years and is now firmly established in the wider context of photography.
All works on display in this exhibition are based on original photographs. These then serve as inspiration for creating Photo Art. Most represent images of unseen surfaces discovered, captured and extracted during particular moments on a variety of journeys around the world. Each work in this series measures 60cm x 60cm. No titles, only numbers, are given to individual pieces as I prefer not to lead the viewer down a particular path but to encourage individual creative connection and allow personal imaginations to emerge.
