Bath Humbug Indoor Art Market at 44AD is a showcase of affordable art and unique design-led crafts to suit every taste, gift budget and stocking. Ranging from ceramics, painting, hand-printed cards, printmaking, textiles, bespoke candles and home decor; you are invited to peruse an exceptional array of work, all available to purchase direct from the artists and designers themselves.

44AD’s door leads straight into the heart of the Bath Christmas Market and Bath Humbug will run alongside the duration from 28th Nov - 15th Dec 2024.

27th November - 1st December 2024

Milly Aburrow

Milly creates mixed media sculptures using a playful colour palette and comical stylisation. Her recent practice acts as a social commentary of contemporary food culture, and its association with symbolisation, power and memory. Milly will be selling prints made from a selection of works including her current project The Salty Crisp!

Piu Bose Art

Piu creates hand thrown decorative and functional stoneware ceramics and original cyanotypes from her home studio in Northend.

As a keen gardener, most of her work has a botanical influence although she is also drawn to the colours of the sea as shown through her use of blue, green and turquoise glazes fused with glass.

Lilly Foster-Eardley

Through sculpture and immersive installation, Lilly's art practice delves into the natural world, exploring an alternate reality where animals take on more human-like characteristics, adjusting their behaviour and natural habitats to survive the dynamic environment dominated by humans. Lilly will be selling a selection of prints, stickers and postcards, plus an array of needle felted creatures from her recent series The Bin Juice Hotel and The Urban Pest.

Emily Slinger

Emily is a photographer and printmaker living in the beautiful city of Bath. She has a range of products including photographs, prints and cards based on her original photographs available in a variety of sizes.

Tully & George

Tully & George are small batch candle makers based in nearby Atworth. Candles are made by hand in their barn in the wilds of Wiltshire from 100% sustainably sourced soy wax, and married to the finest fragrances (12 gorgeous fragrances to be exact). Tully & George have a collection of ‘show-stoppers’ - candles poured into gorgeous vintage and retro vessels – from century old French jam jars to cut glass trifle bowls to smoky Danish 70s flower vases. Candles start at just £12.50, alongside other stockingfiller gift ideas available.

Christine Watters

Bath-based ceramicist Christine works in stoneware, throwing forms on the wheel which are finessed with surface texture and and blue-granite glazes inspired by organic patterns of the coastal waters of North Devon & Cornwall.

Kate Davies

Kate is an illustrator and watercolour painter whose work predominantly features the wonderful Georgian City of Bath, populated with furry characters such as The Bath Bunns.

Original framed paintings are for sale, alongside limited edition prints, teatowels, jigsaw puzzles, and greetings cards.

Karen George

Karen paints predominantly in acrylic and mixed media and is best known for her semi abstract landscapes and seascapes with atmospheric skies. She works mainly from the studio taking inspiration for colour and subject from a series of sketches and colour studies that she has done on long walks and holidays to wonderful wild places.

As well as painting Karen runs workshops and co-hosts the Artchatter podcast.

Gaynor Leverett-Jaques

Gaynor is a Wiltshire-based artist who loves capturing the world around with vibrant, confident colours. Her paintings have strong personalities and her intention is to spread warmth and joy with her work. Although working mainly with oils, she also enjoys the flexibility of acrylic and mixed media.

When not painting, Gaynor co-hosts the Artchatter podcast with fellow West Country artist Karen George.

2nd - 8th December 2024

Carol Baines

Carol Baines is a Bath-based printmaker who creates painterly etchings, monotypes, dry-points and screen prints, taking inspiration from the wonders of the natural landscape.

Gina Belford

Gina is a contemporary painter who runs intuitive abstract painting workshops at her home studio near Bath. Her paintings are created through an intuitive process, which she hopes will make your soul sing. Exploring the relationship between colour, texture, and mark making, Gina will have a variety of work available from large paintings on canvas to greetings cards and art gift boxes.

Christine Lawes

Christine Lawes is a Contemporary Botanical Artist, based in Bath, specialising in the study of natural forms. She has developed a bold, original style that express her love of plants. Each piece is unique and admired for their decorative, creative qualities as well as their botanical accuracy. Original artworks, prints and cards will be available, showcasing her fascination with line, colour and form.

Jo Slade

Jo Spade is landscape and botanical painter fascinated with the effects, colours and patterns of light on the landscape. Working in oil and acrylic with loose brushwork, she paints high contrast images to capture a moment of intensity such as sunrise, sunset or a patch of sun on the hedgerow. affordable mini paintings to larger oils will be available, alongside cards, prints and hand-painted Christmas baubles.

2nd - 15th December 2024

Polly Gough

Polly is primarily a printmaker, specialising in collagraph. More recently she has been using the skills and techniques developed in her printmaking practice to create mixed media pieces.

Underpinning her work is a passion for experimentation, texture and colour. A range of original prints and mixed media pieces will be available as well as cards and handmade decorations.

6th - 15th December 2024

Ruth Thorp Studio

Ruth is an illustrator and designer offering a colourful range of paper products including cards, art prints and books which are inspired by the natural world, incredible landscapes and a sense of adventure and storytelling.

9th - 15th December 2024

John Bainbridge

Jonny will have an array of abstract and landscape paintings of all sizes available, alongside a selection of exclusive mounted prints and greetings cards.

Jan Fisher

Jan's artwork evolves through a process of hand cut and Lino print making, further embellished by using collage and digital techniques. Texture, colour and perspective are instrumental to her creative practice. The majority of Jan's unique artworks aim to engage and to entertain children.

Georgina Heywood-Smith

Born and bred in the south west, Georgina Heywood-Smith's work is based on her love for the area.

Known for her signature black and white engraved artworks, a selection of original prints will be available.

Luke Holcombe Studio

Luke is an artist and printmaker who creates limited edition original prints, digital prints and cards exploring relationships to nature, memory and time.

Caroline Rudge

Caroline will be showing her original drypoint prints, and paintings in watercolour and egg tempera, focusing on the natural world, particularly butterflies and moths, beetles and bird nests. She will also have her framed ‘Ethical Entomology’ pieces - high quality reproduction prints of Caroline’s paintings, hand cut, folded, embellished with genuine gold leaf, and pinned to mimic real butterfly and moth collections, but all made of paper.
